FINCen Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Update:
U.S. Department of the Treasury, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCen), issued a federal reporting requirement for Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI).
As of 12/03/2024, there is an ongoing federal litigation and preliminary injunction out of Texas that paused reporting companies from filing their BOI with FinCEN. Companies that choose not to file, while the preliminary injunction remains in effect, will not be subject to penalties. Reporting companies can voluntarily submit BOI reports.
